Day 2

Kob Inn Hotel – Mazeppa Bay (about 6 km)

After breakfast, we will quickly inspect our equipment and pack snacks for the hike. After a short walk, we will reach the QHORHA river. Have a short break and enjoy a refreshing swim before continuing in kayaks to the other side of the river. Stop on the way to photograph the herds of local and unique cattle that come to the river’s shore to lick the sea salt on the rocks, enhancing their nutrition and ensuring adequate mineral intake. Towards the afternoon, we will arrive at the Mazeppa Bay Hotel. After lunch and a short rest, we will devote the afternoon to a quick trip to Cow Island through the famous hanging bridge.

Day 3

Mazeppa Bay Hotel –  Wavecrest (about 18 km)

Today is a longer hike crossing several small bays and estuaries. Most of them are shallow rivers that are easy to cross. Stop for lunch at a local Leba village and enjoy a traditional Xhosa tribal meal. Afterward, we will continue to the long beach of Sunday Point, which is kissed by a cool local subtropical forest, and then we will reach our destination – the Wavecrest Hotel. The hotel is located on the banks of the river next to us. Towards evening, we will find the time to sit, relax, and breathe the ocean air. If we still have some energy left, we will take a short and enjoyable trip through the tropical maze of black and white mangrove trees at sunset.
