Some call Johannesburg “Jo’burg” or “Jozi or “City of Gold.” The name refers to Johannesburg’s beginnings as a 19th-century gold rush town; today, it is the country’s commercial center. Economic strength, energy, a beautiful climate, and commercial vitality make Johannesburg a fascinating destination. With around 5 million residents, it is the largest African city south of the Sahara. Around the city, you will see many yellow-colored hills – called “Mine Dumps” – these were created from the underground soil from the early gold mines and are a unique feature of Johannesburg. Enjoy a city tour of the financial capital of South Africa before being transferred to your hotel – at leisure for shopping until dinner at hotel – Overnight Johannesburg  (D)
